Missing miles ... ... ...

Its happened again, one of my miles is missing Shocked Shocked Shocked

Car has just been in for a dose of looking at, to cure the 'knocking' from the front anti roll bar; which has been fixed.

However while the car was in the workshop they hooked it up to the computer to check for downloads ... something was updated, I know because the clock reset to GMT !!

But what was also obvious was that the main odometer had wound back a mile. Now a mile is neither here nor there under normal circumstances BUT the main odometer is supposed to be secure, it should not be possible to change the reading. Now if it can change a mile it can change any amount so something isn't right. This is the second time this has happened to me.

The first time no one at the dealership was interested, although they did see it. This time the technicain that worked on my car was in service reception when I went back in to tell them what I had found, he was very interested and is making some enquiries to see how this might happen. Watch this space ... and check your mileage when you take the car to the dealer !!

Knowing my luck it'll have gone back past 00000 and it'll be showing over 99,000 miles on the clock, not bad for a car that's only been on the road 2 weeks.
