try a pump up inflatable air bag, available from plumbers, merchants etc.

wdege it in the crack and pump it up with the attached air bulb

I think the switch is wirk8ng because when I use the dash release I can hear the lock click.

I think I’ll have to try brute force and pulling the strap.
