Can I put in a complaint with the forum, and with Land Rover, and with the mud at the Yarwell quary.

I've just spent an hour trying to clean the mud out of the radiator, and the water was still coming out muddy.

No one told me I'd need to try and clean the radiator after going offroad through a large muddy puddle.

There should be a warning, like the ones on the sun visors about going round corners, to tell me not to go through deep mud puddles (well, small lake really).

On a serious note, does anyone know how the clean the engine, without damaging it? It is filthy in the engine bay now, and really needs something doing.

i gave mine a good clean, using all purpose cleaner, a scrubing brush to agitate the APC and covering the electrical plugs etc with clingfilm. and a normal hose to rinse

Then gave all the plastic a good coating of auto glym vinyl and rubber

I gave the radiator a good wetting with the running hose pipe but it quite hard to get to the back of it with the fan position

you're making me feel guilty now, my engine bay clearly shows the signs of the cars off road excursions ....

I've splashed the hose pipe around a bit but it'll need a lot more than that to remove the muck in the engine bay. Other than that its had the wheels off a few times to clean them, that also allows for a good shot with the powerwasher on the suspension.

I also have a set of ramps so lift it one end at a time and get right under with the powerwasher too. It's about a four hour job in total and thats without a proper detailed finish on the bodywork. But is worth it for the fun,

i faced a serious problem after 40,000km drive. i can't start the engine of my freelander 2 and according to the chief mechanic, the sensor which located near to the fog lamp is seriously covered by mud. this sensor is responsible to start our engine and since it's too dirty, it will fail to work. honestly, hardly to wash / clean that sensor because it is located at somewhere very low and at a hidden place. however, my friend, never drive his freelander 2 offroad, face the same problem as well after a 40,000km drive. ours freelander 2 is a 2008 model. Fans of Land Rover

look in my galllery at what I had to do to clean my radiator.....it actually started to overheat if i made it do any real work so I really had no option but to clean it out properly.
