2011 SD4 vs 2007 TD4

Picked up my new SD4 Freel2 yesterday and thought I would post my initial thoughts having been driving an 2007 TD4 SE for 3 1/2 years and 50,000 miles.

The engine is noticeably smoother, quieter and feels far stronger
Its early days but the fuel consumption looks to be promising (TD4 was a manual)
Auto is nice - but manual gearbox was good as well
It feels more secure on the road, less roll more grip etc
Sat Nav is far more responsive, you press a 'button' and get an immediate response
Bluetooth pairing seems much quicker
Electric window remote controls are nicer
Instruments are easier to read
Piano black on steering wheel looks smart
Dab Radio is great! 2011 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Yes the dealer supplied and fitted them, although they are only held on with double sided tape so wouldn't be difficult to fit yourself.

Must admit I am a bit of a fan of them as they seemed to do a good job protecting the sides of my last Freelander. 2011 SD4 HSE Ipanema Sand

I had them on my last one, never had any marks on the doors when I sold it so they must have done their job, I had mine mounted a little higher up the door than your ones Question p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I thought they should be in the recesses too, but it looks like they are too long to fit the recesses on your photos?

So did I but was trying to be tactful and not pee on his chips, so to speak, they are as I understand it designed to fit over the recess, still the Freely looks very good. As for the gauge showing 14 degrees, it must be faulty as I only live 50 miles further north and it has been b Censored cold here today in the wind and showing 6 degrees on mine. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I have an 08 s model which is currently in the stealers for the week for them to fix the vibration, but I have a 60 plate gs auto my car is a manual on loanl, thoughts are the manual is well better on fuel economy but the auto is easier to drive and seems smother, bear in mind i Have 19" wheels but the tyres on the gs seem to soak up the pot holes a lot better, might lose my wheels now... Thumbs Up
