If the battery light comes on as well it’s quite well known mine seemed to be low battery related. |

Could also be the throttle body - a flap valve sits in the air inlet tract, it opens for the engine to run and closes to prevent run-on when you turn off. In time the internal plastic gears wear or the potentiometer tracks fail, either way the valve gets stuck in odd positions,.
