United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Loire Blue

It's a GS model. Autotrader's price estimator says that is about the right price for a 2014 GS that's done 118K miles. It's got a few scuffs and dings on the bodywork, peeling lacquer on the front grille, but mostly in good condition.

Looking through the LR service schedule for 2014 model it says that the camshaft drive belt, tensioner and idler pulley should be renewed at the 112000 mile service (which it hasn't had yet). I'm slightly confused by this as all other information on the internet says 144000 miles / 9 years for cam belt change on 2014 car.

So... lots of unknown, but as said if it actually has had the oil changes at a non-LR dealer it might be a good deal at that price, as apart from oil change all the other major service items have been done. Or it might have really bad engine wear...

. ...... " the camshaft drive belt, tensioner and idler pulley should be renewed " .....

I would request that the water pump be changed at the same time ......

Thanks, did wonder about that as I have seen it recommended on other posts, did they change the engine in the 2013 facelift or is it the same as the previous revision?

If your not in a hurry for a Freelander, I would walk away from this one. They made a lot of these and they are not that rare. My advise only buy with a, "proven", history.

Hi,
believe originally the TD4 engine (the GS your looking at) was 10 years or 150k which ever came first
then
when the SD4 came out that was 7 years or 112k which ever came first
and
L/R dropped the TD4 engine to the same time scale

all a good bargaining point for them to do it if you want the car, but as said above ^
think I would keep looking,

ours is a 2013 bought 8 months ago with 110k, one owner, GS with extras, Full detailed history serviced every year or 16k at same supplying dealer and it was less than that one Whistle

Thumbs Up .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

Thanks for the info re belt change.

The seller has now announced the mileage is 125K not the advertised 118K. I am looking elsewhere... thanks for everyone's advice on this thread.

Landrover ownership can be a real pain in the a**e if you end up buying a lemon but a true joy if you bag yourself a good one, keep looking you won't regret it.
