Engine light and reduced perfomance

Hi all, had the reduced performance warning come on and went into limp mode. It cleared itself and was driving ok, then the engine light came on and reduced performance came on and off intermittently every few miles until I got home.
Appreciate it could be anything but any ideas? I'm going to try a hard reset today. Thanks

Cold weather and older battery are not a good mix. Some MY 2013 cars have poor quality EGR valves that will throw a warning light and then go to limp mode. You need to get the fault codes checked. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Cheers for reply, just had codes scanned and it’s coming up 3 codes for EGR valve so looks like you were right. Any idea of the cost of replacement of the EGR? Cheers

Snappa,
Code read first...but my recent experience posted just a few weeks ago:-
"Had 'Restricted Performance' warning and limp mode kick in on the Motorway last Friday just after filling up with supermarket diesel.
Unfortunately the code reader at my local independent showed 'failed EGR' rather than fuel/filter problems.
This was the first one they had done (mine is a 13MY with 76,000 miles) and it took them 10.5 hours, although they billed me for half that, total just over £700! "
Good luck

EGR's are not really that expensive (not LR supplied ones) so its down to who is competent and honest enough to do the work so that wont be a LR dealer then will it. 1 Whistle FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
