I understand what you said.
As a good practice, when one changes oil, both time/mileage timer and oil dilution timer (if DPF exists) must be reset.
Like, I said, in order for the ECU to have the new time origin for the next warning(s). And you to receive it at the correct time.
If these resets were missed, better to be done as soon as possible, for a reliable, later warning.
You'll just say to that indie, if it isn't the same as the one changed the oil, that the timers weren't reset when the oil was recently changed and you want them reset.
You want them done for your peace of mind.
The time/mileage timer can be verified if it was performed/reset, but the oil dilution timer not. At least not that I know of...
