Well it looks great, drives smoothly and smells like new! Only snag was when I tried to input my phone it said that engine needed to be started as battery was low.... Maybe its been sitting for a couple of months, will let the dealer know.

if its only just been taxed today, if your quick and put the registration into DVLA vehicle enquiry website it will show when the tax expired. (unless its already been updated with your taxing of it)
That may give you an indication on how long its been in the dealer system.

Tax ran out 10th July. I have rang the dealers service dept (main Nissan dealer) re the battery and also I just noticed the passenger door mirror is making a squealing noise and sticking! Just minor niggles but I have 3 months full warranty to use Very Happy

so its probably been standing or driven around forecourts etc since 10th July. FL2 are very sensitive to slight drops in battery power so a good run will probably sort it out. The wing mirror probably just needs a squirt of silicon lubricant. Both of these are not unexpected on a 4 year old car.

But like you said, you have a warranty so may as well use it to best advantage, see if the dealer will replace the battery for you. Thumbs Up

Thanks RogB I have some lithium white grease in a spray can which I use on the daughters MX-5 windows when they get stiff to wind up and down, I guess that will do the same, however where do I spray, might sound daft but I wondered if there was a special spot to spray for the mechanism.
I looked up the car on LR web site and found the service history as the service book is not with the car yet, nice to see that it has been main dealer serviced from the start and the mileage is genuine, also not gone in for any other work other than servicing, that's comforting Very Happy

I part exed my 3 year old Antara which was a decent motor but has had serious issues with the dpf and 500 mile re gens that have to be strictly followed, the trouble I had with that made me wary of any diesel car again, however DPF does not seem to be as big an issue with FL2 and seems to be a case of give it a regular run and all will be fine.
Must admit the step up from the Atara and not being unfair to the old car which wasnt bad, is huge, the only similarity is that they both have four wheels.... Still I paid a lot less for that then this one but the quality is very good in the LR2 Very Happy

I used to have an Antara too, 58 plate. it wasn't a bad car and with the back seats down had loads of room to sleep in when I was working down south on shifts. The FL2 wasn't long enough for that inside but it is a much better motor in every other way.

as for the mirrors, just spray into the gap between the mirror and the mount where it pivots. Nearly all FL2 seem to suffer from it at some point in the lifespan.

Yes spray it well and also move the mirror by hand fully foreword and fully back,it may seem like it will break when you push it out but it won’t,with it in this position you can get the spray in all the hard to reach places,I do mine maybe every third wash.

Volrider, both the issues you mention are quite common on the FL2. The electrical seems to be over senstive to use by giving very early warning of shutdown due to low battery.

It doesn't take long sitting in the car listening to the radio (always a better option IMHO than walking round the supermarket) before it tells you the battery is low and the engine needs to be re-started. Mine has been doing it from day one and the battery is fine 4 years on.

Why LR mirrors should squeal when other don't I don't know but, as others have said, a squirt of silicone does the job. driving on the right side

I think you will find that the service history only exists on-line for later FL2s. There is no service book.

Sticky door mirrors common (unimportant) problem, otherwise it looks like you have found a good one, ENJOY. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Service history is done online whether you use a dealer or your own independent mechanic.

Get a copy of the manual for the car, it's handy for things like fuse position & amp rating etc.

Spray the door mirrors every now & then. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thank you for the tips, I did the spaying and manual moving the mirror and its great now, good tip to do it regular, which I will do.
I have the operation manual but from what is said a couple of replies ago in this thread the service is on line, I can live with that no problem, just the latest service was done by non LR dealer (Nissan garage where I bought it from) I will get a copy as I have printed off the LR ones so I can keep a hard copy (record) of the service history.

A couple of pictures Very Happy
