Thanks for the response Muddy - good to know things are still going well with the PHEV.

Just been having a look at the Mitsubishi Eclipse which has been advertised on TV recently. It's not quite for me but for a mid sized SUV with all of the toys, 1.5L petrol turbo for around £27k new it strikes me that this is exactly where Landrover needs to be positioning a vehicle. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I think the Outlander is a very interesting car, with a fully electric drive train, backed up by a reasonably powerful generator. (engine does drive the car directly in certain circumstances through a fixed gear)

I find Mitsubishi Dealer treats me like I'm a valued customer and nothing is too much trouble - like LR used to 10 years ago

The first time I bought an LR from a dealer (a three-year-old 90, bought in 1990), they gave me the keys and gave my wife a bunch of flowers! This was before the ubiquity of supermarket flowers and a bunch of flowers in Glasgow in February was an impressive touch. Of course, nowadays the institutional sexism of this would be a bit more apparent - it was actually destined to be mainly her daily run around! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto Previously: 2010 MY FL2 TD4e GS - Now gone at 199,500 miles, about 135,000 of them mine. ‘93 Defender 110 200TDi CSW ‘87 Defender 90 4 cyl Petrol ‘83 110 CSW V8 - best ever! Range Rover 2-door V8 (not sure of year - 4-speed box and vacuum diff switch) Series III SWB Diesel |

That was before the ex VW general manager took over Shields, it went downhill from then now part of the Lookers group, so the sales side would have improved, no comment on the service side, especially if it is now the same as Taggarts also in the same group. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Not Shields but Gaulds, corner of Mosspark Boulevard and Paisley Road. I guess the fact that they were also the Rolls Royce dealer might have had a bearing on their attitude to customer service! 2005 D3 2.7 Auto

I won't bore you with the details of why after 16 years and 12 JLR vehicles I switched brands but my experience of Mitsubishi is a million miles away from yours Ian
