Aircon pump won't disengage

Seems to be locked in the engaged position. Even pulling fuses does nothing.

Noticed a couple of weeks ago it had suddenly become noisy. However, when switching it off from inside the cab all was quiet again. However , now it's constantly engaged despite what I try. Think I'm out of A/C gas as before Christmas got 2 plumes of "condensation " infront of the bonnet while driving in the snow.
Any ideas how to free it ? Did a search, but don't fancy pulling it apart - not yet anyway - need it for our holiday next week and haven't got any time to do the job before hand.

Bit of a long shot but you could get it gassed up and hope a sensor kicks back in.

Or get out the WD40 and spray to your hearts content, otherwise open the window on your holiday and sort it out on your return. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Another option is to use it as a compressor for your tyres for the ultimate on-board compressor! Stuff the AC!

I run my AC all the time, great for drying the air summer & winter!

Your car is a 2007, it may simply need re-gassing, & a drier while you are at it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks for the replies. I'll continue to monitor it but I'll also try and get it in for a re-gas too. Hopefully I can do this before I go away.
Regards.
