BATTERY AGE?

its that time of year,
I got my 59plate hse in july this year and am very happy with it,full stealer history.spoke today to supplying dealer for more history, very helpful and gave all info I wanted.i asked if they had ever replaced the battery but they had not,but said this would not show up unless it went to main dealer to be fitted.
as the car is now 7 years old I would guess from previous landrover experience that it would have been replaced in the last year or so.the battery is not the std "landrover stamped one"it is a "platinum premium"extra power 110v 80a 800cca.it is in very clean order with a light layer of dust as I would expect.and seems to work as it should.i did notce it does not have the 2nd earth lead on it though.
is there any way I can tell the age of it?
cheers and merry chrimbo to all

Most batteries have a date sticker on them somewhere. Might have to take it out to read it though. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory

Well not a bad way to start, my first post is a helpful one. Very Happy

I went through this myself recently, batteries tend to have a number melted into them 'somewhere' the first digit is a letter which alphabetical y refers to the month (A=January) the next is a number which equals the last digit of the year, mine was 3 which = 2013.

On that particular battery which was a Land Rover replacement, if it was possible to lift your eyes up and over the top of the writing, you would be looking at the negative post.
But its not always in the same place.
