Help! Haldex Motor Re fit after Clean

I removed with a little difficulty the Haldex motor Gen4
the Filter was Very dirty and the Oil quite Dark
car has just covered 36k
But after a clean and new Filter Fitted
the Motor is a real Censored to get back in its housing
the Prop is also being a Git to remove even with all Torx bolts out,

Does anyone have any tips/advice on refitting the Motor
as the Car is stuck till I fix it.

and for everyone else
just take it to Bell Engineering and have them do this horrible job

I now Wish I had.....

PS
can I move the Car (push) to clear the space it is in

I guess I will get Fault codes as the Haldex is not connected
will these clear once I eventually get the Unit all back together?

I did read somewhere that it is easier to remove refit with the pump electric motor housing loosened or off. Not sure this will help but it may give you the extra clearance you need to get it back in.

good luck

Look at this video here. The bloke just grinds a bit off of the motor housing to get it to fit on easier. You could also grind a small relief notch out of the propshaft flange.

well after 2 hrs it is all completed
took a lot of levering huffing and puffing.
no way I could get the prop donut out of the haldex flange to remove the haldex altogether.
the video of the volvo one is helpful but the gap on the LR one is smaller.
All done fresh oil new filter etc drives fine no error codes.
But!
I would not do this Job again....
I would go and see Austen.

thanks all whom replied it was if nothing else encouragement to keep going.

You can use the prop shaft bolts with their spacers to push the shaft out of the haldex . That's how I removed mine when I needed the fuel tank out. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.
