Fitting tow bar - Where to route the electrics into the boot

Hi all,

I am currently fitting a towbar to my FLII. The steel parts are nicely in place and I am proceeding with the electrics. I am using an universal 7way relay, so no need to interference with the cars own electrics. I have just a few simple questions:
Where is the easiest way to route the cables from the towbar connector and into the boot?? I guess there will be a suitable blanking plug somewhere or does I need to drill?
Are there an always hot/live connection in the fusebox to feed the 7way relay with current from?

Thanks for answers Smile

There is an approximately 25mm hole on the left hand side of the vehicle probably just underneath the plastic bumper. From new it is fitted with a rubber plug. If you are using the Land Rover interface there is a rubber grommet on the wiring loom which seals the hole.
If you remove the left hand side trim in the boot area there is a "spare" plug for the tow bar electrics which will have a live feed.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I found a few pictures around. Seems to be the rubber plug found in the bottom in the LH corner when the interior trim is removed, as specified in the above thread. Seems like its a bit larger than 25mm Smile

You'll get the info you need on this thread, including wiring colours and the fuse location in the boot fuse box.

Hopefully it is the same wiring colours /fuse on your vehicle as it is on UK ones. 2007 TD4 XS Manual in Sumatra Black
