England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black
Power transfer unit

Can anyone tell me if failure of this part is covered under approved used warranty?

My evoque is currently in LR being investigated and they are suspecting PTU.

Symptoms were what stsrted as a droning sound on braking, moving to whine from the rear left follwed by banging and thudding from rear left.

LR assistance thought it might be a failed CV joint.

Im guessing its an expensive replacement. LR changed some seals on the front transfer in september under warranty so is this related?

Thanks in advsnce

Rog

Hi, I would have thought so. I had my rear diff pinion bearing replaced under extended warranty without any problem. That was at 8 years old and 80,000 miles.
