PCM replacement

Hi all.

I have EDC17CP42 PCM from Freelander 2 2012MY with some issues.
At first, can anyone answer what is it in the area 17F00 - 17F80? Some virtual eeprom or other kind of synchronization with vehicle?
Or replacement eeprom is enough?

In attachments my flash (L359(CH300050)_intflash) and file from web for compare.

Many thanks![/url]

It's the checksum/security data for that memory block.

Ok, does it mean that i can't replace PCM just with swapping eeprom?

Some back story. Car was drowned in the lake. After restoring electronics, there is error still. Engine is in low power mode, and there is P2263-22 - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost System Performance - Signal amplitude > maximum. At the same time turbo works at maximum capacity, and then, after several trip: P0108 (Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input) appear.
In screenshot: violet - Manifold Absolute Pressure, cyan - engine rpm, blue - turbo actuator position.

First of all, what do you mean by "eeprom" ?
Are you referring to the memory flash memory circuit inside, or the ECU itself?

Second, if the car was drowned, then the barometric sensor, which in many times is inside the ECU, has been contaminated with water - hence the P0108 error.
Therefore it doesn't give you the real ambient pressure and the ECU can't make a proper/correct correlation between the atmospheric pressure and the turbo pressure.
This is why you have these problems.

You need to replace the barometric sensor inside, or better to replace the whole ECU.
By the way, on idle, which is the barometric pressure? It should be around 100 kPa, or slightly lower, depending on which altitude are you living and should not vary at all, not matter the engine RPM or the manifold pressure.

By eeprom i mean external small memory in ECU. Not internal flash of tc1797. (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/673228...om_BAK.rar)

I will check my barometric pressure during the day. The question is still open, can i get used PCM. Or buying virgin and replacement it via JLR SDD is the only reliable option.

I will go with the last option: buying virgin or used ECU and replace/exchange it via JLR SDD.
Talk with Greg777 or Savelov on your forum, http://lr-club.com/ (They are also in Moscow).

PCM internal barometric pressure sensor gives value 97kPa. It has a difference with the MAP which is 99kPa on stopped engine. Also i wrote to Greg777, and waiting for his response.
Thank you, alex_pescaru.
