A couple of years ago I had a broadband problem and a guy from BT called about resetting my "profile" at the exchange which had been set to 2 Mb and needed resetting to 7Mb - this is the upper limit on your performance and can't be changed by the Indian call centre guys . Anyway during the conversation the BT guy pointed me at a useful website . I have just signed up for a free "whitebox"
