Dangerous driving of the highest order

I have emailed this link to West Mids Police and tweeted it to them. Unbelievable. Shocked Evil or Very Mad

Someone commented to say it's the Small Heath bypass.

Let's hope they issue tickets to the cars and vans that sat in the outside lane.

Hello Nick

Unfortunately the link will not play due to the Force not allowing force computers access to youtube. You do not mention the location of the incident and if it is our area but in any case it is often difficult for the police to take retrospective action in these sort of cases that are reported after the event where no damage or injury has happened.

Dashcam footage is taken on a case by case basis as offences like going through a red light, inconsiderate driving etc. can only be dealt with by ticketing at the time it happens when seen by an officer.
To deal after the fact would involve an interview with the driver, a statement from yourself, a report for summons file and possible court appearances for all involved..
In an ideal world this might happen but we have to use police resources appropriately and proportionately so sorry to say from what you have described we would not take action in this case.

This does not mean other more serious offences would not be dealt with though.

Kind Regards

I've sent a couple to Lancs police, total waste of time and effort.

Just going to keep posts to social media police won't do anything, with WYP attitude you could get away with anything caught on dashcams as they can't be arsed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 i6 HSE Auto Sumatra Black

I've got dashcam footage of an attempted "crash for cash" scam. Luckily I had my wits about me and being in my Freelander 1 could see through the car in front at the one in front of him. Usual set-up. Car full of Asian men not belted in, rear passenger kept looking back at me . I was already taking evasive action when they braked, luckily for me I had ABS. I shouted some sort of vile racist crap at them as I went past. They caught up to me and stopped next to me. The window came down and the driver started blaming me, "didn't you see that grey car brake , I've got a car full of customers you f***ing idiot". To which I replied "cash for crash you dirty P**i c**t, and it's all on my dash cam", as I pointed to the camera. He then shot off, straight through a red light. Couldn't get away quick enough.
He was driving a 12 plate white Mondeo with the reg plate partly obscured by a fake taxi plate. This was what made me suspicious some 400 yards before the incident, that and the fact the lead car, a grey 09 Vectra, cut me up off an earlier set of traffic lights, then they got side by side and were obviously comminicating with each other. Then got in to position to execute the scam.
Anyhoo, I got to work and called the police who were non plussed and told me to contact my insurer. I contacted my insurer when I got home the next day. They weren't interested either.
Then when it came to insurance renewal time, they said, "it says here you were involved in an accident on (insert date here)!" Then I had to try and explain again what happened, that it was an attempted scam and I wanted insurers to know in case there were any claims involving white Mondeo's and grey Vectra's in the Birmingham area . I got passed around different departments until eventually it was sorted out.

Perhaps it's a case of if you can't beat em join em. Perhaps we should all start driving like maniacs and brake checking everyone in the safe knowledge that nothing will be done. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Very very disappointing when stuff like this happens. I haven't watched the video as it would Censored me off, but I can imagine what I'd see.

I can understand the police not doing anything about it if it wasn't clear who was driving, but if the driver can be seen, why not do it? Stupid and sends the wrong message.

As for the insurer, from my experience never ever call an insurer with "information" or a query - they will take even a question about whether a claim should be made or not as a claim. Direct Line screwed me with that. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…
