Has anyone got a recommendation of a good hotel in London nearish of Euston station (getting the train from Glasgow to Euston) ? I don't want to go crazy on price as we are looking to stay for 5 nights , looking to spend around £1k Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I have stayed many times at the Hilton London Euston which is just across the road from the station. All the rooms have just been refurbished and they are in the final throes of the public rooms which should be done by end of June, so does depend when you were planning on staying. Prices can range from very reasonable to stupid.

The St Pancras Renaissance is probably out of your budget, but there's also The Great Northern Hotel at Kings Cross (5 mins walk from Euston) or there's a good smattering of Premier Inns and Travelodges in the area if you're minded.

Hilton have a loyalty scheme you can join for free ("Hilton Honors") which may give you a discount or a free breakfast.
An alternative to a couple of nights in the hotel might be the night sleeper - I've used it a few times going up to Scotland and it's quite an "adventure" (in a nice way).
Might be worth looking at the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury in Coram Street http://www.hilondonbloomsburyhotel.co.uk/. Close to Euston and it's a nice hotel - I haven't stayed there myself but I work in their conference suite sometimes and my clients seem to like staying in it. Also got plenty of little restaurants and cafés nearby - and a Waitrose! Don't know about price though. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
