TAILGATE SWITCH

It looks like the micro switch to my tailgate has failed, been searching for a replacement, and the ford focus unit looks exactly the same? do the ford parts interchange?
On My Jaguar many electronic were from Ford.
Ford tailgate switch is half the price?????

I'm not familiar with the Ford part - does it include wiring and connectors for the number plate lights (the LR part does)?

There are two versions of the LR part (for earlier and later cars) so you would have to be sure it matched the correct version.

LR part would be around £30 from Dan at Duckworths, or possibly slightly less on eBay.

The connector looks different and it's missing the wiring for the number plate lighting so it wouldn't be a straight replacement. The basic unit might (or might not) fit but you'd have to work on the wiring.

Agree with Pab- they are not the same

-switch might be something similar like on Cmax but the connections are not

I did mine last year with genuine LR part and it was around £ 18-20 , I think
