i was sat next to a X3 today, with a black FL2 behind me at the lights

Is the X3 still made in Austria. I thought I read it was built in the same factory as the Saab convertable? FL2 TD4 XS Santorini

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

The replacement for the X3 that will be anounced soon is to be built in the USA (god know why).

Although the FL2 is selling quite well here in Norway (saw another Stornoway and a Silver on a short trip at the weekend), you NEVER see an advertisment for them, seems they sell themselfs. However its the Japs (+ copy Japs) and the Germans that sell best here and the X3 is VERY popular, like all over the place 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

Are ther more Germans in the US than in Europe then

Cheaper manufacturing costs, and the main reason, a greater profit than producing in the EU. Its the same reason VW will be manufacturing Golf MK6 out there too...
