Has anybody got and advice on a good way to clean my upholstery on the seats and doors?

My seats have stains left by a previous owner on both the passenger and driver seats which look slightly like tide marks.

I have the black leather/fabric seats and have tried using the regular upholstery cleaner on the fabric ( the kind you can buy from petrol stations etc.) but it won't get rid of the stains and I don't want to pay for a valet if I can do it myself

Any advice?

You really need a wet dry vacuum cleaner like a vax to tackle that,

I used to do my old Seat Ibiza over the 19 years I had, with dishwashing detergent in warm water & on a hot dry day. Used old towels to soak up excess. Used white towels so they would not leave any colour stains.

Worked very well, but these days with all the electrics in the seats maybe one needs to use a wet & dry vacuum. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I have the same sort of marks on my passenger seat that I have been unable to sort out using upholstery cleaning stuff. Mine were caused by putting a soaking wet tweed cap on the seat after a shoot for the journey home, but now looks as if I have had a very nervous passenger at some point.

Use an all purpose cleaner like Autoglym Clean -All, spray this solution in a approx. 10 to 1 dilution onto a microfiber type pad then agitate over the seat or if fabric & stains are a bit stuborn you can use a small brush like a nail cleaning brush. Ideally you need Autoglym Fabric Stain Remover (use neat & it does what it says on the tin) though this is a trade product only however if you buy the Autoglym Hood restorer kit the fabric cleaner is or was the same product!!

Once cleaned simply dry up with a clean leather in clean water - wipe seats or carpets in a similar way to if you were drying the door shuts as in give it a bit of effort.
This is the way I was trained by Autoglym in 2001 when I first started valeting, prior to going on that course I bought a wet vax but only ever used it once after doing that course & that was on a coach so sold it & did every car since & still do the other way.

My wife some how sat on a babybell wax skin and then sat in the fl2 and has smushed it into the xs trim seat! Tried getting it off but its gunked into the mesh of the seat


What I ended up doing was getting lr seat covers to protect my baby from my wife  Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto

Couple of tips for you.
These "Tips" are ones that I personally use and have tested, they are not recommended products. You use them at your own risk, all products can be misused and can cause reactions not expected both on Skin of your body and the Cars.
Please use with caution and read the labels of the products.
Mr Muscle Kitchen cleaner is one of the best cleaners I have tried for removing marks, especially grease based ones.
Do not use a cloth...scrubbing brush is best then cloth to wipe up with afterwards, do not be light handed. A good rubbing will take off the stuff that Mr Muscle has brought to the surface.
(Must be Kitchen Cleaner none of the others work like this one.)
Second method is with the Hard Stain remover (pre-wash) that you can get with Carpet Cleaning machines, I use a stronger mix and scrub by hand unless you are fortunate enough to have a Vax Carpet cleaner at home.
Most cleaners work by bringing the Grease or offending substance to the surface, then you have to use cloth to remove this.
Forceful actions will prevail.
There are many cleaning solutions out there but knowing how best to use them is the secret to success.
Knowing what the stain is the most important part. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables.
