Someone wrote to Honest John about his 2011 sd4 auto - whenever he starts the car a "transmission fault" message appears. It disappears after a few seconds and reappears on shutdown.Dealership wanted £1000 for new parts.

Honest John writes that there are lots of problems with the auto gearbox and rear axle on the sd4.
