Hi Cambo, no I am just after the streaming device for another car, so ipod nano, etc. not the actual interface. I am just interested with what people would recommend as I have no idea where to start.

Oh so you want the device that stores the music, not the receiver in the car... got it.

I use my ipod and iphone all the time, but the amount of storage needed would render each device useless. I am also looking for something that I can run with and the 6s is just too big for that! |

Gonna get a bit techy here. With regards to what device would hold all your albums, it depends on the quality you rip them at. If you rip them at a low bitrate, ie 128kbps then you would get them on a decent sized iPod. Lower quality may be ok for many lower end car stereos, but if you intend on using the ripped music as your main source of music in the house and put the CDs in the loft then you want to rip at a much higher bitrate to ensure you get good quality audio on any home stereos.

Thanks for the advice, yes I am interested in better sound quality so will need a higher bit rate. Maybe you are right and I need to rethink if I need all of the music in the car, hmmm? |

Certainly Ive found unless you love every track from every album you are likely to only listen to a handful of albums on a daily basis. Changing over the albums you have periodically works better for me. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

I was reading an article recently about HiFi (ie proper HiFi with proper amps and big speakers etc) and how people have got so used to highly compressed and processed MP3 and listening on earpieces or low quality speakers (like the ones in cars) that they don't realise just how bad it really is. I suppose lifestyles have changed as I don't listen to "proper" Hifi anymore either. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Totally, everyone is used to streaming quality, which isn't normally more than about 320kbps, if you're lucky.

Slightly off topic, but having recently got my FL2 the radio/cd is a bit of a let down. My previous car had a SD card slot in the radio, which was brilliant, had about 800 songs on it. Trying to whittle 800 down to 80 songs for one cd was difficult |
