08LR2 - LR wheel speed sensor wont work

I recently replaced the LEFT rear wheel bearing on our 08 LR2 and the wheel speed(abs) sensor stopped working ... so I replaced the sensor (with the correct one according to the vin) and it still will not read/work. the wiring harness is all in great shape I do not think that is an issue. I hooked it up to a gap tool and it still shows a flat line (not sensing/woprking). so now it has HDC system fault/ abs/tcs all those cool yellow lights. it still drives fine if you turn off the tcs

any suggestions would be useful.

truck has 72k miles

I am almost positive I put it in the same direction I pulled it out... but I will double check

EDIT: the black side is facing the sensor

yes figured out... i don't think the bearing was seated all the way for whatever reason (even the clip was in) i just put a block of wood over the hub and smacked it a few times with a hammer and all sensing came back...
