^ Believe me, I would celebrate being wrong about this winter but the mild seems relentless, as does the rain. People kept saying in the 13/14 winter that January or February would deliver cold but it never came. Hideous winter that was. The meteorological winter begins 1st December as opposed to the astronomical winter which usually starts on the 21st but this year was the 22nd for some reason. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

We have been back from Norway for a couple of days, it was -20 deg C in places. Feels quite tropical here!

I have it on good authority its likely to get colder towards the middle/end of next week (along with yet another weather warning for wind/rain)

Unusually mild winter here too. Put winter tyres on at the end of October and first sprnkling of snow on 28th Dec.
Wind direction now changed and coming from NE. Heavy snow and -25c forecast in weeks ahead. driving on the right side
