true, but none have any where near the same specification - which is why they offered such a good price.

normally dealers wont be interested in the fitted optional extras, they will just give you a value based on the book price for your standard model.

You also have to factor in the vat that they pay on the difference, plus an MOT, sales commission, advertising on Autotrader, Bank interest etc and you can see that they don't make that much on a vehicle after general overheads. One of my cars ended up on a small garage forecourt in Somerset and was there for nearly 10 months before being sold for about £1k more than I got for it. I read an article recently saying that most dealerships make more on servicing and warranty work than selling cars especially new ones. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto 5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE |

other than the wheel arch my car needed no work doing to it other than a forecourt valet. It had just been MOT'd and had a major service the month before (along with new DMF/Clutch the month before that, I then had the noisy rear end so decided to cut my losses although 60% of me regrets that decision now) so their only other overheads were advertising, warranty and VAT.
