Apologies if I am being thick here. I have searched and can't find what I am looking for.

I have an issue locking and unlocking the central locking on my 2009 FL2. Basically it takes several presses of the key fob whilst I move it up and down in the region of the drivers side door. Sometimes (but now not often) it opens on the first press, others it can be 20-30 presses. I have tried the other key fob but with the same result. Eventually it will open.

I suppose it could be the batteries in both fobs but I would like to locate the central locking sensor to see if there is any issue there.

So where exactly is it located please?

The 'RF' module that receives the signals from the fob is located behind the headlining, central between the volumetric sensor and the rear end.

I've got a panoramic sunroof. Will that make a difference?

It very probably is the batteries, LR say renew them after 3 years, if its not that it could be where youre parking,a mobile phone mast or dish in the near vacinity affecting your signal?

It's most likely the solder joint that connects the battery to the circuit board in the key fob

Well I replaced the battery as instructed (thank you for the youtube video). Left the fob inserted in the car for 30 minutes and tried it. All seemed ok. But next day back to same old problem. I also tried it down on my beloved allotment (away from nasty wifi interference) with the same results. Seems more hit and miss now (locking better than unlocking) but it still struggles to unlock.

Wondering if the problem is actually the Door Lock Motors. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Seems to be worse than ever now. Grrrr. Ok on a nice warm day but don't fancy it taking 3 minutes to unlock in the middle of winter

A couple of suggestion here are the RF module and door locking motors. Anyway I can diagnose it further please?

Had same issue on wife's 07 FL2, took fob to a local TV repair guy and asked him to change battery. He took fob apart and cleaned inside checked battery and said it was fine. Fob has worked perfect since, I think it might be the same with yours 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

What a plonker (me that is)

Got a multi meter on the fob and found I wasn't getting any voltage from the battery onto the circuit board. Desoldered the battery and what did i find - I had bent the smaller battery leg. A quick straighten out and resolder and voltage restored. Oh and amazingly it locks/unlocks form miles away.

Very happy now. Well except in my pleased state I think I've just got a speeding ticket. Grrrrrrr

No silly. I had to drive faster to charge the fob battery up quicker

Seriously though the reason I was doing 46 in a 40 was taht I was too busy watching a bloody police chase that had materialised from the lights a few hundred yards back. How to make yourself obvious to the police - be about 20, drive an astra, dont have number plates on and do a u turn when you spot a police car lol. He was definately doing over 40 when he passed the camera lol. And so was the panda car
