I was meant to part ex my FL1 as I got a cracking trade in price... however as this was my first ever car which I very fortunately owned from new (well before LR's became a fashion statement) I just couldn't let her go. Plus at the time I only had over 35,000 miles on the TD4 unit |

Mine was the later version V6 with the clear indicator lenses and dark black plastic bumpers which seemed to stand up to our climate far better than the earlier ones that went chalky grey. They actually stood up very well!

Yeah it's been interesting listening to you guys chat about this as Diesel is "flavour of the month" in Australia and every manufacturer has been scrambling to supply diesel model to our market like no man business. Petrol is still very popular but diesel models are everywhere!! Probably about to become even more popular as petrol is about to get more expensive with world crude prices rising again. Australian car industry has been hit hard due to the lack of diesel alternatives including some Japanese manufacturers.

The past 10-20 years over here we have been actively encouraged and enticed to buy diesels, now they are finding ways to restrict the purchase and use of diesel cars.

Petrol prices are very volitile here whereas Diesel stay approximately the same price. We've enjoyed cheaper petrol prices here for the past 12 months going as low as 99c/lt, now avg about $1.35lt whereas 12 months ago it was up around $1.85/lt. Diesel has remained about the $1.25 to $1.37 the whole time. I'm sure once OPEC sort out there $ per barrel pricing, petrol prices will rise again and Diesel in Australia will make even more sense considering we still have a huge amout of petrol 3/4/5 plus Litre engine displacing vehicles for sale.
