Good result .
A few weeks ago I had to go to my mums , about 9 miles up the M74 . A woman in front of me going up the slip road ( I was tailgating because she was going so slowly 40mph, it's a long long slip road) . The M74 was empty , the woman sped up to 50mph , I checked my mirrors to make sure nobody was going like a bat out of hell and that it was safe foe me to pass the woman , road was clear , she then moved into the middle lane, only her and I as far as the eye can see on the motorway, I undertook her and carried on in the inside lane . I glared at her as I passed, she didn't even look like she knew I was there. She carried on in the middle lane until I was out of sight, not that I was going much faster than her (about 60) . I watched her in my mirror for a good few miles.
I bet who every taught her how to drive on a motorway told her the middle was the safest place as you didn't need to worry about traffic passing you on the outside and that people joining the motorway didn't bother you either. It just seemed so natural for her to move into the middle lane. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Cool

Last year got stuck behind hogger in Lane 3 for miles doing 60 - many undertook her but I knew if I did I would get caught so sat behind her at a safe distance Rolling Eyes

Eventually she moves into lane 2 and I passed - she was on a mobile without a care in the world Shocked

I checked my rear view mirror for as long as she was visible and she was still sat in middle lane with nobody in lane 1 Evil or Very Mad

When towing a caravan and being prohibited from lane 3 middle lane hoggers are a big problem - I would make them resit there test Twisted Evil Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Unless driving conditions prohibit it, why can't people just drive to the limit.

The motorways are my office, and the amount of time I come up against cars doing 50mph forcing me out to the fast lane in my coach causeing other motorists a minor inconvenience until I pass, only to get stuck behind another. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Because it's a limit, not a target speed to be attained!
And....it's not a 'fast' lane, it's an overtaking lane: if you need to use it to overtake someone not doing the limit then that's what it's for! Then, after overtaking, move back in (to lane 1 if not overtaking something there too) - that's the problem, not the varying speed of traffic in different lanes as that's bound to happen. 2011 SD4 HSE Auto

Here in Greece, EVERYONE except truckers are middle lane hoggers!

There's a bit of safety involved - as vehicles/objects tend to appear out of nowhere... 2013 SE TD4 in Mauritius Blue [Written off]

There isn't a speed minimum on a motorway, years ago I was stuck behind a wee old dear doing 40 mph on a 2 lane motorway at rush hour. She caused havock , people pulling out cutting each other up trying to pass her at speed. A few days later there was a traffic cop in the same Q as me getting his lunch , I asked him what the minimum was , he said there isn't one . Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

I watched an eppiside of Traffic Cops & they stopped an elderly driver for going 40MPH. They told him he was going too slow.

There were a few Middle Lane Hoggers on the M1 & M25 yesterday on my way back from Silverstone MG (where I won Best In Class for my MG Van). (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
