Thanks for all those replies. I'm happy enough putting the new one in but if anyone with am FL2 could comment on any steps required afterwards that would be useful. I will not leave the keys inside FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

The 12v socket by the aux socket on the centre consul is always live. connecting a battery charger to the +ve terminal lead and the -ve to any earth will also keep all settings as you swap them over. If you don't need or use the stop/start then you don't need an AGM battery. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Interesting. I don't mind setting things again as long as it can be done without any special kit, or any kit at all. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Cut and paste from another website, helps understand why Stop Start requires different battery technology.

Our Disco has a AGM fitted as standard due to it being power hungry, apparantly if the Alternator fails, you will be lucky to drive for another 30 minutes, before it shuts down. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

Sold on the AGM part. As long as the car can sort itself after I put the new battery in I'm sorted. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

swap the battery out,( whilst leaving the door/windows open and key in your pocket ). reset everything that you can find that needs resetting (windows, stereo, roof, electric seats??) and take it from there.

I reconditioned my battery with my CTEK charger but it wasn't really any better. I ended up buying a new Varta F21, 80Ah, 800CCA AGM battery. I swapped the battery, took about 10 minutes in all and just had to reset the windows.

Hi Chucky! I do not think that Halfords HSB110 battery is suitable. But you can find the correct version

Yeah, I realised the Halford ones are under powered. The one linked on page 1 seems like a good bet so will probably order that.

In the old days you could revive a battery by giving it a good shake up then turn it upside down for all of the crud to run out (which shorts out the plates at the bottom of the cells) then refill with fresh acid. You ended up with a slightly lower Ampere Hour rating but it generally worked a treat. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
