2015 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

Creak & Smell From Front.

Recently been getting a creaking sound from what appears to be the off side front suspension. Anyone ny ideas as to whether this is common or if not what it may be? (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
(Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red.
(Past) RR Evouque Pure Tech in Barollo Black with bespoke Firenze Red colour coding.
(Present) Freelander Metropolis 2015 MY In Santorini Black with Ivory Premium Leather.

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

have you checked the top mount bearings? Strut leaking?

It could be the A pillar rubbing against other bodywork at its base. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Another point. Pulled up the other day to a job & got out of the car & said to the customer - What is that horrid smell of burning? He said it wasn't here just now. I went round the front of my car & it was stronger, lifted the bonnet & smelt it. No idea what it was but it did the same 2 days after I bought it!! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

I used to get a terrible smell with my Golf when it was performing a DPF burn off. Smelled like someone was lighting a barbecue with barbecue lighter fluid. Used to make my eyes water!
