Disable rear parking sensors

I wedge the Freelander backwards into a tight parking spot, the rear parking sensors do not think I am capable of this maneuver and squeal constantly, has any one disabled these sensors, mine is a MY13 model.
HELP I now use ear muffs whilst parking, not fun.

Turn them off when required via the sensor button on the dash mate Thumbs Up

They need to start sensing first before you can disable I think SD4 HSE Lux

Volume cannot be switched off, in the 'setup' menu you can increase and decrease but only to a preset minimum.

For the MY13> vehicles you can decrease the volume. Whilst the car is in reverse use the steering wheel volume controls to decrease the volume. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
