I am actually intrigued to see how this turns out. Not my cuppa tea, but I have a feeling that it won't look as bad as some suggest. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I am looking forward to seeing the end product too. Not for me but I really admire your vision and desire to do something a bit different.

Presumably the weight difference will be a consideration as the 3M and brackets were engineered for one spoiler and your new one will weigh more than double ?
Good luck and keep the pics coming. Thumbs Up

Thanks Mav Thumbs Up every mod is personal taste BUT I must admit this one is a bit of a gamble the body shop have never done anything like this! Time will tell if it's money well spent or money down the drain Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Thanks Aero Very Happy yes the weight will be an issue and it may have to be bonded on like the genuine D3/D4 spoilers. However prior to painting this will all be taken into consideration. It is still not 100% completed once the guys are happy with the end result they will then look at the process of mating it to the freely Laughing

Think my roof rails with cross bars zapped the fuel economy anyway Laughing MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Hi Mav, sorry have to disagree there, from my perspective anyway. One of the reasons, and there were many that were pondered by me over several months while I decided what to buy, was the fuel economy compared to other vehicles in the same price bracket with similar loading capacity. I get close to 40 mpg from the TD4 and although was expecting slightly more, I am very happy with that. So I think, although I may be wrong as I often am, that the FL2 has very good fuel efficiency, all other things considered. I know where most comments like that come from like, well you should get an Ampera if you are concerned about fuel efficiency, but no other car would give me more than what the FL2 gives me, in my opinion. Thumbs Up

Just of the phone to the body shop and the spoiler is completed and has been painted in Fuji White Thumbs Up

This weekend I will attempt to take the genuine spoiler of the car seems a shame in a way as its only 10 months old and was a factory fit Laughing

Can anyone advise the best method to get it off Whistle MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Carefully would be my suggestion to remove it Very Happy

Would you be looking to sell the original spoiler, if so how much including postage and fixings ?

Also how close a match to Alaska White is Fuji White ?

Although both my kids keep reminding me that my car is NOT white, but both of theirs are. Rolling with laughter

If it's attached the same way as the accessory spoiler, I'd remove the 2 x brackets [4 screw total].
Get a hairdryer and apply heat at one end [at the join to the tailgate], then start pullling the spoiler away.

Looking forward to seeing the result of the new one fitted. Thumbs Up

I'm 17st and there is no way the spoiler would pull away, I ended up with nylon fishing line and sawing through the 3M tape. once the spoiler is off I had a right struggle to get the remaining tape off, heat and a plastic scraper and gently does it...Good luck, we cant wait to see the result, if its similar to the RRS style spoiler it should look good Thumbs Up
