Amazon Logistics

This is now the main delivery service used by Amazon. Started up late last year and already managed 1700 approx complaints about delivery failures. I only found out when they lied saying they tried to deliver a parcel to me today and didn't turn up. So if ordering from this company Amazon INSIST they use another delivery company.

i have to express my astonishment that a company as big as Amazon with this number of complaints still use AL with the worst track record of any delivery company in the UK Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

I use Amazon a lot and, in my experience, the best are DPD. The worst are Yodel (by a country mile...) and Amazon Logistics haven't proven themselves yet but I have had good service so far with them delivering... ...

DPD are terrible, Vodafone use them, waste of space, every time they have to deliver to us they send a text, every time they make up some Cock and Bull story why they haven't delivered, the last one being that they came to us and we had told them it wasn't for us, complete garbage, they never came, they insisted they had as they checked the GPS of the vehicle and said he had been as the GPS showed he had been in the vicinity, vicinity yes, but not to us.

UK Mail are not much better, waiting for them to deliver, they took it back twice saying that no one was in and they had left a card, no they hadn't, our security cameras show them arriving, in twenty five seconds from parking, he has run up the drive, rang the bell, walked back to his van as he fills in the card, puts the card down the gulley cover and drives off, had it on film.

Crikey, I think one of us is having the exceptional experience... I've used Amazon for 6+ years and, in all that time, DPD have never failed to meet their commitment... it's Yodel who have the cock & bull story generator. ...

Just had an almighty row with Amazon about the delivery and guess what? it worked. Delivery driver moaning like hell as he had to go half an hour journey out of his way to make my delivery.
If he had done it in the first place etc. Terrible service and attitude of the driver. No apology either Ex 2010 Freelander2 GS-e Diesel manual Silver owner

We had a recent delivery at work via UPS, we have a concrete road with a nicely mown lawn either side of the single track road, UPS left our premises last month when it was really wet, fell off the road, on the offside, sank in the lawn, put it on full left hand down, ploughed out twenty five feet of the lawn, then managed to get traction to get back on the concrete, but as he was going so fast, then shot across the road, fell off the other side, sank his nearside front in the lawn, gave it plenty of right hand down and ploughed out another twenty foot on the other side. I work for a mail order company. We currently use UK Mail, in the past we have used ANC, FedEx, Business Mail, DPD to name a few. Basically when they annoy us we take our business else where. We dispatch around 80 parcels a day.

The problems I find are usually driver related, or they have been given a too larger round for that day. We had one customer phone up saying they had found their parcel in the hedge at the bottom of the garden soaking wet. The driver for some reason found it acceptable to throw the parcel over the hedge.

We changed from DPD because they lost a parcel that contained 2 grands worth of medical equipment!! Parcel insurance went on weight, not price of contents.

We recently had a city link guy deliver a package, he asked if he could leave some parcels for his pall to pick up in an hours time. The other guy turned up the day after!! Quite a few folks didn't get their parcels that day!!

None of the couriers are perfect, you'll always find a fault with them. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Think its harsh to blame the driver at times, the sender has to share some of the blame, if they didn't just screw the couriers down for the cheapest price, instead of saying this is what we want, how much to do this comfortably, then the onus won't be so much on the Couriers to cram so much on a vehicle to get a decent paying load.

One thing about Amazon - when the parcel has gone astray they have always replaced it without hesitation. We used to live on a main road in S London opposite a bus stop. Several times parcels went astray and each time the driver had left it "in a secure location" ie on the front doorstep. Hadn't even bothered to chuck it over the locked side gate.
Worst I ever had (a long time ago admittedly) was Securicor, who simply took the parcel back to their depot, because we weren't in the AtoZ (some London addresses aren't), and didn't tell anyone.
Agree that it's down to the drivers - out here in East Anglia every delivery so far has been spot on, even though they sometimes have to phone me to find the house.
I always try to get things sent by Royal Mail - they're reliable and if I'm out there's somewhere local I can pick it up. They're not cheap though!
