The problem is not with the vehicle, the testing station have to use equipment approved by VOSA, it is the testing equipment where the fault lies.

It may be worth trying a local council testing centre. They have these centres to test their own vehicles but by law they must be open to the public - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/travel/ch...=52#hidden

If any has tried or does try one please ket us know of your experience. GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

Is it just 13 pin or are twin electrics effected?

It is just 13pin sockets and VOSA are aware; https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/syst...4-2013.pdf

There are a few other fora debating this topic (CG avert your eyes now); http://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/top...bar/page-2

It appears that some test stations are not using VOSA approved test boxes Evil or Very Mad GONE - '07 TD4 GS manual Zermatt Silver

7 pin are only tested for security of, as there is no standard wiring for 7 pin Socket. 13 pin is supposed to be standard across the EU hence the testing that it is wired correctly.

Finally got the car back tonight with an MOT pass... and an acknowledgement that the test device was at fault.

That didn't stop the dealer previously saying that it was a wiring short circuit (clearly it wasn't) and that it had been retested elsewhere (clearly it hadn't - same advisory on non-existent child seat precluding rear seat belt check).

Courtesy of Steve D, I had already check the website so I saw who failed it and who eventually passed it with nothing on the vehicle actually changed.

Mrs N also lost a day waiting for the car to be collected yesterday but that never happened until today.

Still, we can hitch the shed on wheels up tomorrow and get away for our planned holiday in the peak district - sigh of relief.
