Glad your sorted... personally I think manual and autos both have their place and I will defo go back to an auto BUT and this is the big BUT I want an auto box that allows me to go in to manual and actually let me decide what I want and not over rule me.

My old Senator ( some years ago but one of the best cars I have had ) did let me decide - my last car with a new modern auto and flappy paddle kept over riding what I wanted meaning it was next to pointless having.

For now manual is the way but when the time comes and I just want two peddles I will....

That's where the Freelander scores over the D4, in the Freelander you can select Command Shift and change up and down as you want unless it senses that you are likely to damage the engine or transmission, the Disco with the flappy paddles, you select manual, if you don't change up or down for twenty odd seconds it reverts back to Auto unless your in Low. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I agree - but my saab thought it knew better too much of the time.... i'm not talking about high revs, im talking about using the engine and box in the right wau at the right time.

Im aware of command shift as I looked at it but I had the feeling i'd feel restricted again...

It's going to be a long week and counting down the sleeps!.......although the spoiler has got to go in for a quick blow over as it felt the pain of the councils attempt to surface dress all roads leading to work and has got stone chips on the top.

I swear they used Pritt Stick and extra sharp gravel, they used that much aggregate I had to use grass/gravel/snow!! 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

Mine was sat somewhere at another dealer and I know this edition has been extended due to popularity.

Right advice time please.....!!

When I collected my new black edition there was a stone chip on the bonnet and a few scratches, considering it had 8 miles on the clock and brand new they offered to change the bonnet as soon as one became available.

I sorted the scratches myself and did the usual on it. Just leaving a single stone chip.

Had a phone all to say their new demonstrator was in and I could have the bonnet if I wanted to check it over. Now my bonnet already has a couple of chips as expected and is waxed/sealed for winter. Would you accept the bonnet swap or ask for something else?

Just seems a bit of a ball ache now.... i.e awkward customer styley. Their offer was another tank of fuel or replacement bonnet. Tempted with the fuel now.
