I went to the LR download page for owner manuals etc and noticed there are already a couple of downloads for MY2014 Freelander. No owners manual though. (Coming) 2016 RR Evoque td4 180 HSE Dynamc

On topic it is usual for manufacturers to load run-out models with 'free' options in the price or badge them as special editions (such as Audi when they do 'final edition' models). I can't see the FL2 being an exception to that policy and if you intend the car being a 'keeper' they can prove good value long term ownerships. So I would expect as we aproach late 2014 there to be more special editions or specced up offers coming through. The alternative is to be first to own the replacement and keep depreciation to a minimum by selling at 2 years old when used availability is still low and demand high. As for the auto/manual discussion I prefer the DSG type 'box and do miss that from my previous car although I don't miss the maintanance costs that go with it! I do personally not see the Freely as a luxo barge so happy with manual and having control. After all one of the many advantages of diesel is you don't need to row it along with the gears, its all about talking the torque.... eh tu? |

Auto or manual? Who gives a sh&t, whatever floats your boat thats all that matters, surely? I prefer auto as does my wife so that's what's best for us. Either way its a great car to own and we are over the moon with our choice. Never will go off road but we enjoy the secure feeling that she is capable in most UK conditions. |

So March 2015 the new freelander is out. How long before will the books open to order? I'm going for the dynamic in September 2014 but I just hope that it is still available in a colour that I will like. Anyone have a rough idea when we will get to see the new freelander? Just hope it does not look like an evoque! Hopefully they will beef it
