Had a nail rip trough my tyre today when I was miles away from home. Had to get what was available at short notice to get back. Ended up with a Falken. Any good? (bit late now i know, but may have to get another "for the sake of balance", and mine need replacing soon anyway) |

Thanks. Don't like to cross brand, so will take the plunge and get the other 3 done. Winters will be getting fitted soon (well it is England) |

Glad you managed to get hold of some Falkens. I ordered some online from Halfords a few weeks ago having looked at the ratings which are comparable with some Michelins. They were on offer and the price was already pretty good. I turned up a week later to have them fitted & not only had they not got them they said that they didn't stock them & couldn't get hold of them either! They'd still managed to take payment when I ordered them & took 8 days to refund me. Moral of the story - use a proper supplier!. Now got Michelin Latitudes which were £100 more for a set. Complaint to Halfords not replied to after 4 weeks & 2 chasers by the way |

I agree re Halfords ! Got my Michelins from a local independent supplier & feel better for supporting the local tradesman |

They're on now so we'll see how they go. But at least I'm 100% legal again |

Shop around. Got mine for £115 a corner balanced etc. Apparently they make tyres for Dunlop and Goodyear, and their High performance tyres are well though of in racing circles. Don't know what they'll be like off road, but they're supposed to be a 4x4 tyre. |
