Pretty sure they are right, service schedule is mileage related or annual, whichever comes first. |

Any warranty you may have will normally be conditional on servicing at the required intervals, but once out of warranty it's really up to you. My car's out of warranty, and I'll now be going primarily by mileage not age.

As Pab says, it's your car, you do as you wish. Do take into account the service book record though, this can have an impact when selling if you have not followed the guidelines. |

Yes, true. But on a 5+ year old car I doubt that it'll make that much difference. |

My dealer also said it was a good idea to replace your car regularly before it develops faults, they told me that when it was only 3 weeks old too, offering a good deal on a new one.

when you buy a second hand car one of the things you check is the service history and if the service is not complete or done to the manufactures recommendations (i always think if they have skimped on servicing what else has been neglected) the price will have to be less or there are plenty that will have a full and complete service record

Speaking from within the trade, a service combined with an mot is a win win for the garage! If you are having an MOT done, to complete a basic service, you only really need an oil and filter change plus a top up of all fluid levels and you're done. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

All my Land Rovers have been maintained by the standards set by LR and serviced by my supplying dealer. It's just my own veiw but they cost a lot of money so like them to be maintained properly. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200 |
