I find the local east European hand car wash best. One chap is about 7ft tall so has no problem with the roof!

Well worth a tenner and they dry it and black the tyres. Smile Disco 4 HSE SDV6 Orkney Grey

Dont knock it, it worked a treat, a prettier solution would be the handle from a vw combi or similar, I tried too bid for one on ebay but lost out , As mentioned in the thread Mrs G was pregnant at the time so something need to be done to prevent her over-stretching and/or falling whilst shutting the boot.
The fl2 has long gone handle and all, the dealer never noticed it never mind complain, and I have two healthy sons - I win Thumbs Up At work

You could always stand on the rear door mounted ladder Very Happy
Then again if you have the G4 roof rack fitted, cleaning the roof is going to be a right pain, as it is boarded and a close-ish fit.

Personally, the local hand car wash for a tennner is good value, get a cup of tea and a chance to read the paper in peace. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Very Happy
Typical Welsh (n Yorkshire!) ploy - they quote you for a car wash then charge you extra for the essentials.

Tea, newspaper, glass inside, mats, vacuum all included in the price of a wash.
£20 for full autoglass polish.
£40 for a proper showroom valet- worth doing on SWMBO's car after it's yearly service, so she thinks I have done a good job servicing - bull beats brains on this one.

Strangely these are all local "lads" (Roy is older than I am) , Eastern Europeans have set up a couple of sites locally, but seem to be standing around, while Roy and his lads rarely have less than 3 waiting - hence the chance to read the paper in the brew cabin.

Please note I am not advertising - because I haven't told you who they are, I don't want you rabble trying to jump the queue. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
