If you do fit additional lighting don't forget to inform your insurance company of the modification.

Got to say darting around the Dales at the moment in the dark I'm not experiencing a problem with the current headlights and occasional use of fog lights - but perhaps I drive slower?

Maybe extra light in the right situation can't be a bad thing xD When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Maybe you can improve your current headlamps? There are lots of ways to do it. VM's spend a lot of development getting the beam/reflector right. Seems a shame not to best use of it by adding some bits not part of the homologation. Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

i dont want to start messing with the current lights ie. opening up the light etc, i'd rather just wire some up When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Hi all, first post but this is something that interests me, as despite doing the upgraded good quality lamps find that the dip is OK, but the main beam needs a little more.

So, being part resident in Sweden I expected to find somewhere that made some extraljus monteringsystem that was specially designed for FL2.

Was looking for something like this which is shown for a Yeti...

but can't find anything for FL2.

So I'm reduced to looking at something like this.

http://merljus.se/extraljusfasten-och-till...rarellstag

It is in swedish but Chrome provides an accurate(ish) translation.

Basically it mounts where the front number plate goes, the number plate fastens to the front of it, and the lamps are steadied by the stabiliser bar and tie roads mounted typically to the slam panel on the front panel.

This is it shown on, I think, a Volvo V50

You can get two light versions, and others albeit of different design which take four lamps.

My big concern is how strong is that area on the FL2 and what is behind the bumper, what has to be taken off and so on?

i don't think it would be strong enough i'm thinking about mounting an led bar behind the lower black grill as it looks quite thick down there, many people put them behind grills anyway, however my last resort is to fit an led bar to a cross bar on the roof Razz When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Old thread I know, but, Chris did you ever get any further with the lower grille option? There's a sponsor over on the d3 forum that does Cree LED bars. My only other option is to go the retrofit fog light route.
