Yep, 17's are 235 and with a 65. Which is bigger than most kerbs Thumbs Up
So no wheel damage.
Post some pics when they are fitted, hope they look the dogs whatsits Thumbs Up

Fortunately, I have only caught a kerb once! Which you can see in one of the pics of the wheels in the for sale section. The kerb was about a foot high lol.

But I have just been doing some working out, and as I am going for a 245 over a 235, the side wall height is only 19mm smaller than the 19's.

129mm compared to 110mm.

Regarding the speedo readings, I have looked into this as well. I didn't compare with the 235 55 19's. I compared it with the original 235 60 18" wheels that the car came with from the factory.

Here is what I found. 235 60 18" vs 245 45 20"

30mph = 29.49mph
40mph = 39.32mph
50mph = 49.28mph
60mph = 59.13mph
70mph = 68.99mph
80mph = 78.84mph

So at each speed on the speedo, I am actually going to be slightly under which is not a bad thing. I will do a GPS check when they are on.

As far as the profile is concerned, in overall diameter, the difference in the wheel arch gap around the wheel is only 5.35mm smaller. So it should look OK!

I think the offset is the same as well at ET45. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

I have to agree with Taz, these will look great with a bigger tyre on them, but seeing as they are 20", that wont be cheap!

19mm on sidewall is 38mm top and bottom, they may look like licorice bands, that is a lot of rubber to lose.
I think it was Chris Southampton who had some pics but the links are dead on his post.

Your car, being Grey, may be better looking than the silver car they were on.

I know what you mean, but by adding bigger profile tyres causes alot of issues.

Speedo way out
Gearing changed

I think the silver GS that had these wheels looked a little odd as it was a base model with big wheels. I am hoping that mine should look right. I would have prefered the shadow chrome versions as they would blend in more, but these tend to go for alot more money!

Land Rover picked the 245 45 20 for a reason, so I have a belief that I should stick with that. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

But then you could argue the same abou going from 18's to 19's!

As I mentioned earlier, it is all compromise with car tuning and modifying. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Mad your all mad

Considering the damage I have done to the 18" standard wheels, and the relatively damage free 17" wheels, going up a size or two is madness Mr. Green

Each to thier own. Hope you enjoy them. but not for me.

As a thought - are you seriously limiting your choice of tyres? It's just that some are only made for a while and then disappear.
I know my favourite are Goodyear MTRs, and these are no longer available in the UK. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Not overly concerned about tyres to be honest. It only does about 6000 miles a year now. Continental UHP's in this size have been available for years so thats what I will get next time, but hopefully that wont be for a good few years yet.

But I am very interested to see how the Michelins perform, I have never had them but hear good things about them. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
