Can anyone tell me exactly how to disengage the damper from the back of the glove box without breaking it? I've read the posts about taking it off, but no mention how to unclip.

Pull the lever of the damper to the left. Need to be firm with it.

I seem to remember with mine that reassembling the GB, it was difficult to get the damper back into position, I found it easier to pull the GB off its lower mounting points so it was completely detached, fit the damper first, then the side runners and finally push the whole assembly home onto the lower mounts.

Thanks for this, Past Master, it's just what I was looking for. So far, I've pulled off the glove box, speaker surround, dash surround and gear shift surround with only a small degree of difficulty, thanks to all the advice I've received on the forum. The trickiest part was being game enough to put enough pressure on the pry apart points while worrying about breaking the plastic clips etc. I've also been able to feed some cables through the centre console and today will remove the radio to retrieve those cables. Will post some pics when finished.
