i also rescued a spider from the bath this morning, careful planning and well timed execution safely removed Boris from the bath and into the air as i threw him out of the window Smile When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Problem with 5 Freelanders we've had is that they've been mostly within warranty and thus Ive not needed to do much. Having said that they've all been very reliable and done about 30-50K in each of them. Warranty work in total has been a new IRD unit on the 1st one and on the 4th stiff gear change sorted and 2x reverse lockout solenoid. 2nd and 3rd - no issues.

So Ive only installed mudflaps, door protectors and tow-bars on all of them and carried out additional filter and oil changes.

Previously spent many cold and dirty hours repairing 3 Discoverys, series 3 and the Defender we've had in the past. I did a TD to petrol V8 change for the 90. Did major clutch, radiator, steering & suspension repairs on the Disco.
But Im quite happy not to have had to do the same with the Freelanders.
