Likes the car more by the day

This morning woke up to find the very steep drive between two stone walls, the hard standing in front of the garage and the 80 yards of bridle path that lead to the road were a solid sheet of ice and or frozen snow. The Beemer on its ultra wide rear Potenzas was like Bambi on Ice. Enter the Freelander Thumbs Up tow strop and D rings attached, my wife steered the beemer ( in neutral engine running) and I put the freelander into gravel/grass/snow engaged 2nd with command shift and off we went, no drama clean tow straight up the hill and Beemer on the road where I wanted it.

The Scorpion ATRs are proving to be just perfect ( and I do know a lot of people don't agree), they have coped with that, with fresh snow on one of the steepest tracks around here, and were as quiet as church mice at 75mph on a motorway trip back from Manchester, plus they leave a brilliant pattern in the snow Rolling with laughter Very Happy 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

No Alex not a chance, but my BMW is supplied by my employer and they do not have a winter tyre policy, anyway every year I have the fun of of being caught at home , turning the traction control off, and spinning up the rear as I try to burn out of the yard. That's why every house around here has a 4x4 as a second car. The road down the hill was so bad yesterday that a D4 that stopped for a stalled Mini could not get forward traction and was sliding backwards! Once on the roads the Beemer was fine the local council are on top of things this morning and the gritters have done a fantastic job. The Freelander was just as good for the tow as the Defender it replaced so i'm well impressed 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Was that bit a joke ?! I find them horrendously noisey and for that reason alone I will not buy them next time. Others on here have said the same thing as well.

No it's not a joke, why would I say they were quiet if they were not ?. 4 brand new tyres, on 4 brand new wheels, all balanced on the inner rim with stick on weights,( the car is not used off road) auto transmission and they are a very very quiet tyre for an ATR , Pirelli blurb I read somewhere even quoted them somewhere as being "quieter" than the equivalent Scorpion Zero. These are the newer version ATR with the "scorpion tail" tread pattern not the older AT/R. the car is an auto I had the radio off, and I'm used to driving my own beemer on £200 quid a corner road tyres, They indeed are quiet and drive very nicely within the limits of the Freelander

however if they don't float your boat buy something else 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Scorpions on mine are quiet, never intrusive, a little noise increase on wet roads but nothing I disagree with.
Would I get them again......without doubt Thumbs Up
