United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red
'Winter Road Rescue' Channel 5, 2nd Feb, 9pm

Pretty limp show making drama's of fairly minor crisis, typical of it's type BUT featuring an RAC man using Snow Socks to extricate a car stuck on ice, and then his own van. Either great product placement or perhaps I should be buying a set (snow forecast for Sat night!) JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Excuse me Manufan, not only are you a very recent member but you also appear to support the wrong team.... As a scouser I have visited Anfield and viewed the 5 Cups.......
Hopefully you will get a real dump of snow this weekend so you can enjoy your FR2. Down here in London we might get a few centimeteres which will bring the city to a halt....... The Original and Best JT!! Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

Absolutely right landy19840 - the snow ploughs n blowers around these parts are always underway with snow chains. It is foolhardy to be out overnight in winter blizzards trying to remove meter deep drifted snow without them.

At least Red Baron your ground support vehicle can certainly keep its feet firmly on terra firma, and not be "grounded" by inclement weather conditions unlike your Stuttgart strutter. Rolling with laughter

Okay JT you joined 1 year before me so I guess I have to concede defeat on that one and change my registration numbers. Bow down But let’s not go down the trophy cabinet road or I will beat you hands down.
How did a Scouser finish up so far down south? Did you hear that they had better wheels to nick, or was it like Athelstan who was driven out of Derbyshire and had to hide in the Alps Whistle

Hey Red Baron - we had a confidentiality clause remember Exclamation

You promised not to spill the beans on my indiscretion with the vicar's wife and I promised not to tell HMC&E re that side line you do in "imports". So anymore revelations on my fleeing from the tabloids will result in "open disclosure" if you get my drift. Whistle

Sorry to interrupt the mutual admiration society.
But just to add a comment about Snow Socks, I bought a set 2 years ago to allow me to use the Jaguar I had then in the snow, despite having them for 18 months I can't actually say if they worked as I needed to jack up the car to get the clearance round the wheel arches to fit them.
Call me a coward but jacking up a car in snow and ice and then putting parts of my body into confined spaces around the car has never struck me as being a very good idea.

Neil
