HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

I have a really weird noise coming from the rear end of my freelander 2 Sad. Its very noticeable at 40mph onwards if i depress the clutch it doesn't make a different so it must be the tyres or drive shaft. Sad Anyone know what it could be, it started off at lunch time today and i thought oohh that sounds odd this road is noisy! Then on the motorway home it was really loud and kinda off putting as i thought the rear end was going to falll off lol... Help meeee Please Smile

if you swing the car left and right - ie shifting the body weight of the vehicle from one side to the other - does the noise stop at all - if it does might be a wheel bearing (I had that!) TVLR quoted about £110-£150 to replace.

If the noise is constant it may be the haldex/rear diff problem.

Other things coul dbe heatshield underneath touching the rear drive shaft.

Something trapped between the rear disc and disc shield

Over the last couple of weeks I thought mine was getting noisier, like a bearing was going. It just sounds like increased tyre noise at the moment and I can only really hear it on smooth roads. I was wondering if my diff has a bearing on its way out. Poke it, Poke it, make it do it again!!
