2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Auto Santorini Black
Help anyone?

Hello all

I have had my brand new freelander 2 for 3 weeks when I decided to have a car kit installed for my iphone/ipod.

Anyway after three hours trying to fit the kit, the auto electral firm told me that they had a "problem" the bracket wouldnt fit, but they would get the correct one and sort it out, and when I was leaving they told me that the airbag light had come on, but not to worry about it, they would fix it!

Anyway, having left the shop, I soon noticed than not only had the airbag light come on, but the terrain response system had switched off, the wipers would not set down on the screen, they stayed fixed part way up, the left had display on the instrument cluster had gone off, and there was absolutely no power to the vehicle, it barely gets to 30 mph.

I went straight to my dealers Williams Manchester, who to their credit are working on it now. They have managed to reset the Airbag, and the wipers, but are struglling with the rest. I havent got a clue what to do next other than trust in the dealers.

Has anyone else ever experienced anything liek this who could offer any advice/suggestions. I should say the auto electricians are highly recommended by the dealers in the area so I thought I was in safe hands.

Any help is gratelfully received.

Thanks

I would say the 'no power' i sthe cars 'limp home mode' which is in response to it thinking there is a serious problem of some kind. Luckily that one should be resolved by fixing the other things.

Hello

Thanksfor that, if only there was a landrover kit available....

Every dealer I approached told me thay they were not available due to problems sourcing them, indeed I was steered away from them during the order stage as they "were not worth the cost" apparently, the truth is a litt;e different it would seem! The brochure list price was high, but its a small price to pay to know it would have been done right, but thanks anyway for the suggestion.

regards

Carl

Its making me think they have cut some wires they shouldn't have, or been cutting the right wires with the battery connected which might have fried the ecu

Purely a guess though Confused
