United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver
Passenger door doesn't always unlock on central locking

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if that's a known fault. I've got a 2008 (58 plate) XS and only bought it last week.
It's still within warranty (they are fixing the cracked driver's leather seat for me) and I notice from the service history it's been investigated before.

I've haven't quite put my finger on what triggers it, sometimes it's fine if unlocked from inside and the next time it locks and unlocks just fine.

Any tips or suggestions?

I assume you may know that you can alter the unlocking sequence to either
1) Unlock all doors with one press
2) Unlock driver door only with one press and another quick press unlocks the other doors

I'm sure you'll come back and tell me if it is a fault and not the way the fob has been set. Smile

I didn't know that at all, it'd be really handy to have one click for all.
Is it in the manual? I shall look it up if so.

I've gone from an '99 Freelander to the '08 XS and there's a lot more electronics!

Yes, it is in the manual
From memory I think it goes like this
Hold the unlock and lock buttons down for about 3 seconds and the indicators will flash twice, do it again to revert to before.

Thanks, I'll do that and see if it still remains a problem Smile

Again from memory, I think you have to do it with the car unlocked.

Just a quick update, thanks for helping me out with the multi-point unlock. I've got that sorted now and you're instructions are the same as the manual.

That passenger door still won't open though, so it must be something else weirdly.
It unlocks via the key so the mechanism seems to be ok. I'll take it into the dealership and get it figured out Smile
